Ukraine and Romania discussed the construction of a bridge across the Dnister Lyman
The bridge across the Dnister Lyman will reduce the distance to the Black Sea and Danube ports.
During the international conference “Ukraine Reconstruction: Romania’s Strategic Role”, the importance of the bridge construction project across the Dnister estuary was discussed, Odesa Regional State Administration reports.
The bridge will improve security and reduce the distance to the Black Sea and Danube ports.
According to Serhii Kropyva, deputy head of Odesa Regional State Administration, the implementation of the project can interact with the Black Sea District Motorway, ensuring multimodality of movement.
“Danube ports are becoming a stable alternative for agricultural exports. Preservation of freedom of navigation in the Black Sea is a global task, especially taking into account Russian threats. Ports should maintain transshipment volumes and become a production hub for further development,” said Serhiy Kropyva.
We will remind you that in the spring of 2022, the Russian army attacked the bridge in Zatoka, which passes through the Dniester estuary and connects the south of the region with the mainland of Ukraine, four times. After numerous missile strikes, the object cannot be restored.
The road from Romania, in particular from the port of Constanta, also passed through the bridge.
