Ukraine sent more than 100 million tons of products by “lanes of solidarity”. This was stated by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, Ukrinform reports.
According to her, more than half of these cargoes are agricultural products.
“Lanes of solidarity” have enabled Ukraine to export more than 100 million tons of goods to date. More than half of them are agro-food products. Therefore, Ukraine is feeding the world in these times of shortage,” commented the President of the European Commission.
She also clarified that during the 16 months of its existence, the initiative brought Ukraine 42 billion euros.
The head of the European Commission emphasized the importance of this road, because it transports about 65% of Ukrainian agricultural products.
“That is why we are investing significant funds and strengthening these roads. These are railway, road, and border crossings. Last year we pledged 1 billion in investments, and it is good that this amount has already been exceeded. Therefore, every effort, every euro is well invested, because it anchors the Ukrainian economy in our single market,” said the president of the European Commission.
