Ukraine increased grain exports through the port of Constanta by 62%

The Romanian port of Constanta showed the highest grain export figure in 2023 thanks to the growth of supplies from Ukraine.

The growth of transshipment was also influenced by infrastructure projects funded by the EU, Reuters writes.

Last year, 36 million tons of grain were handled at the port, and the share of Ukrainian grain is approximately 40% of the total volume, or 14 million tons (+62%).

It is noted that Romania aims to increase its transit capacity for Ukrainian grain to 4 million tons per month and is currently modernizing rail and road infrastructure in and around the port.
