Ukraine is asking for subsidies for the export of grain through EU ports
Ukraine asked the European Commission to provide subsidies for the transportation of agricultural products through distant European ports.
Ukraine asks the European Commission to facilitate Ukrainian exports through EU ports. In particular, such a mechanism will help Ukraine to increase transit through “corridors of solidarity”. The European Commission may make a relevant decision in the near future. This was stated by the Minister of Agricultural Policy, Mykola Solskyi, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“It’s a normal working pattern that hopefully can be applied this season. Without such compensation, it is economically unprofitable to deliver Ukrainian grain, for example, to the ports of Hamburg,” the minister noted.
USM recently wrote that Ukraine hopes to attract the ports of Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Italy to export agricultural products. Earlier, Croatia offered its ports for the export of Ukrainian grain.
