Ukraine took part in the shipbuilding exhibition in Rotterdam
The Ukrainian maritime industry was presented at the shipbuilding exhibition Europort, which takes place in Rotterdam from November 7 to 10.
During the exhibition, Ukraine presented its developments and innovations in the maritime industry. Europort is the largest shipbuilding exhibition held in Rotterdam, one of the largest port cities in Europe, writes Ukrinform.
At the event, it was discussed, in particular, that the development of maritime industries in Ukraine is a strategically important task. According to experts, this requires a comprehensive approach and joint efforts of domestic companies, the government and international partners.
It became known that cooperation between Ukraine and the Netherlands in the maritime sector is currently successfully ongoing.
“Our delegation includes representatives of maritime industry enterprises that continue to work despite the war and remain part of the international maritime industry community. It is also worth noting that hundreds of ships currently sailing the world ocean have a share of Ukraine. It’s engineering, it’s services, it’s production details, it’s human capital. All this continues to work,” Artem Vashchylenko, head of the Supervisory Board of the Maritime Cluster of Ukraine, shared
According to Yuriy Zhukov, the founder of C-Job Nikolayev LLC, Dutch and Ukrainian companies are part of a group engaged in innovative development aimed at the “green” and digital transition to Industry 4.0/5.0.
“For example, an underwater autonomous dredging vessel. This is a special innovative project of our Dutch partners. Such a vessel does not work on the surface, does not make noise, does not scare the fish, but goes underwater without a crew above the soil and scoops it into a tanker, and then quietly moves and unloads it. The entire process takes place autonomously, is less expensive, and is environmentally friendly. There is a need for such an innovative vessel not only in Europe, but also in Ukraine,” Yuriy Zhukov said.
