Ukraine wants to give two ports to American concessionaires

The transfer of two Ukrainian ports to American concessionaires could bring $630 million in infrastructure investment.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented a map of Ukraine’s transformation at a meeting with US President Joe Biden. In total, there were 58 paragraphs in it, including the paragraph concerning the concession of ports.

According to the map, Zelenskyy expects the US to invest $630 million in Ukrainian port infrastructure. It is this amount that can come through the transfer of two Ukrainian ports to a concession to American investors. What ports can be transferred to the American concessionaires has not yet been announced.

Let us note, that two Ukrainian ports – Kherson and Olvia – were transferred to a concession last year. However, so far, no investments have been made in the ports infrastructure, since the statement of transfer and acceptance of property have not yet been signed for any of the projects.
