Ukraine’s agricultural exports decreased by 9% in half a year

In the first six months of 2025, exports of agri-food products from Ukraine reached $11.3 billion — 9% less than last year.
This was reported by “Economichna Pravda” with reference to the Deputy Director of the Institute of Agrarian Economics Mykola Pugachev.
The agricultural sector remains the key driver of foreign trade: it accounts for about 57% of the total volume of Ukrainian exports.
The main sales areas remain the EU countries, Asia and Africa — these three regions accounted for 92% of agricultural exports.
The largest buyer of Ukrainian agricultural products in January-June was Turkey — $1.45 billion, or 13% of all supplies. Spain, which led the rating last year, was in second place with an 8% share.
Algeria — $289 million — closes the top 10 importers.
According to Pugachev, the key export positions remain unchanged:
• grain crops — $3.99 billion;
• oils and fats — $3.16 billion;
• oilseeds — $996 million;
• food industry waste — $741 million;
• meat and by-products — $581 million.
These five groups provided 84% of all agricultural exports of Ukraine in the first half of the year.Earlier, USM reported that Ukrzaliznytsia transported almost 80 million tons of cargo in the first half of 2025.
