Ukrainian Danube Shipping agrees on raid transshipment in the port of Constatnta

Ukrainian Danube Shipping reached a framework agreement with TTS Group S.A. regarding the possibility of transshipment at the checkpoints in the port of Constanta.

The Ukrainian Danube Shipping delegation has started another working trip to Romania, said acting general director of UDP Dmytro Moskalenko.

“Currently, the activities of the enterprise are most closely related to this country. Most of the cargo this year was delivered by our ships to Romanian ports. And we are interested in finding new opportunities, projects and reliable partners in Romania,” said Moskalenko.

The first meeting was held with representatives of the Romanian TTS GROUP S.A.

“The partners have confirmed the possibility of transshipment at the Constanta road station under the barge-ship scheme, Ukrainian Danube Shipping has received relevant price offers. Raid transshipment will allow the Ukrainian company to significantly speed up the turnover of the fleet. After all, waiting in line for unloading at the port terminal usually takes too much time. But most importantly, Ukrainian Danube Shipping will be able to offer cargo owners (Ukrainian farmers or traders) the entire logistics chain “turnkey” – from transshipment in the river port to loading on sea vessels,” added the head of the enterprise.

Moskalenko also noted that the new logistics model of Ukrainian Danube Shipping successfully competes with direct shipments of sea vessels from Izmail. After all, Ukrainian river ports cannot serve vessels of large tonnage that are able to enter Constanta.

“During negotiations with representatives of TTS GROUP S.A. also discussed the prospects of other areas of cooperation. The company group has a huge cargo base, which is even more than the carrying capacity of the fleet. This opens up opportunities for cooperation with partners,” concluded Moskalenko.

The TTS group of companies owns the largest river fleet on the Danube, which includes almost half a thousand vessels (800,000 tons). TTS has its own terminals in Constanta and 7 Danube river ports. The group of companies also owns 8 floating cranes.
