Ukrainian Defense Forces Attack Russian Naval Base in Novorossiysk

Ukrainian military struck air defense positions, berths and seaport infrastructure at a distance of more than 300 km from the front line.
On the night of August 12, the Defense Forces of Ukraine conducted an operation to destroy the Russian naval base in Novorossiysk, one of the key bases of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“This night, our Defense Forces of Ukraine conducted a unique operation to destroy the naval base in Novorossiysk, the last main outpost of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea, at a distance of more than 300 kilometers from the front line,” the report said.
According to the head of state, the operation used “Palyanytsia” jet drones, “Neptune” missiles and unmanned naval systems. Hits on Russian air defense positions, berths and seaport infrastructure were confirmed.
“Our “Palyanytsia” jet drones, “Neptune” missiles, and naval unmanned systems accurately executed their intended targets,” Zelenskyy noted.
The day before, the Russian authorities announced a massive drone attack on Novorossiysk, which, according to them, lasted more than five hours. There were also reports of the use of naval unmanned boats. As a result of the attack, the grain terminal in Novorossiysk stopped working.
