US asked Ukraine to stop attacks on tankers in the Black Sea, — media

On July 31, US Vice President J.D. Vance, during a conversation with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, asked Ukraine to stop attacks on oil tankers in the Black Sea.

The Financial Times writes this with reference to Ukrainian officials.

According to the publication, Washington was concerned about the impact of the attacks on the oil market and American companies. These were ships that transported oil from Kazakhstan through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal in Novorossiysk.

The American Chevron and ExxonMobil have stakes in the CPC and Kazakh oil fields.

In July, about 1.3 million barrels of oil were loaded per day through the CPC – more than 300 thousand barrels less than in June.

According to the FT source, Ukraine agreed to Vance’s request. At the same time, Kyiv expects to receive a license to produce interceptor missiles for Patriot.
