Ukrainian farmers face critical staff shortages and uncertainty about bookings

The government has not yet responded to the appeal of the public union “All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council” to expand the possibilities of booking.

As reported by the Agrarian Council, Ukrainian farmers are entering the midst of field work with a critical shortage of personnel and uncertainty about booking workers.

The union stated that without an operational decision from the government, some farms may be left without the necessary specialists and suffer significant losses.

At the same time, according to the VAR consultant on accounting and taxation Lesya Pankratova, the government has not yet responded to the appeal to expand the possibilities of booking workers.

“Unfortunately, we do not have an answer yet, but we are currently waiting for the resolution of this issue, because in fact, the process of reconfirming the criticality and rebooking of their workers is underway for all enterprises, not only in the agricultural sector. Due to the mobilization of a significant part of machine operators and drivers, the industry’s human resources have almost been exhausted. “If the reservation conditions are further tightened, many farms risk being left without necessary workers during the most crucial period of field work,” Lesya Pankratova emphasized.
