Ukrzaliznytsia has increased grain transportation to ports and western borders since the beginning of March

The main volume of grain products, as before, is sent to Ukrainian ports.
In the first ten days of March, Ukrzaliznytsia transported 1.032 million tons of grain cargo. This was reported by UZ representative Valeryi Tkachev, writes Elevatorist.
This figure is 11% higher than in the same period in February, and 8% higher than last year.
At the same time, the average daily load on the network as of March 12 is almost 87 thousand tons per day. On some days in March, this figure exceeded 100 thousand tons, which indicates a revival of shipments and gives reason to expect that the results of the month may exceed those of February.
In the export connection, 928.2 thousand tons of grain were transported by rail in the first decade of March. This is 10% more than in February, and 8% more than in the same period in 2025.
The main volume of grain goes to seaports – 842.7 thousand tons, or 91% of total exports. Another 85.5 thousand tons, or 9%, were transported in the direction of the western border crossings.
Compared to March last year, grain transportation to ports increased by 4%, and in the direction of the western border – by almost 69%. In general, export rail transportation of grain increased by 8% year-on-year.
Also, the day before, USM informed that 100 hectares of land are being sold near the port of Pivdennyi for a port and railway hub.
