“Ukrzaliznytsia” requests to refrain from sending wagons in the direction of the port of Izmail

“Ukrzaliznytsia” informed about the difficult situation regarding the transportation of agricultural products in the direction of the port of Izmail. The queue is at least 27 days.

As of May 8, 4,978 wagons were moving in the direction of the Izmail station, of which 2,168 were carrying grain cargo, the deputy director of the company’s commercial work department Valery Tkachev reported, writes Rail.insider.

At the same time, the average daily unloading of agricultural products in the port was 60–80 wagons. According to Valery Tkachev, this is primarily due to adverse weather conditions, which has stopped the unloading of grain.

“If possible, we ask you to refrain from shipping grain cargoes in the direction of the port of Izmail (critical accumulation of wagons, queue for unloading – approximately 27-36 days),” the official urged.

The last time a critical situation with the accumulation of wagons in the port of Izmail was in March.
