Ukrzaliznytsia transported almost 19 million tons of grain in eight months — most of it to ports

At the same time, August volumes more than doubled compared to July due to the activation of sea exports.
Since the beginning of 2025, 18.8 million tons of grain cargo have been transported by rail. This is 30% less than in the same period last year, reports Rail.insider.
In August, transportation volumes amounted to 2.8 million tons, which is 2.3 times more than in July and 6% higher than in August 2024. Grain exports in August amounted to 2.55 million tons — 70% more than in July, but 3% less in annual terms.
The main volume — 94% — was sent to seaports, while only 6% fell to western border crossings.
The day before, USM wrote that 290 thousand tons of agricultural products have already been shipped during the entire period of the Grain from Ukraine initiative.
