USAID provided 300 grain wagons to Ukrainian exporters

The project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) provided 300 grain wagons to Ukrainian exporters.

Since the beginning of the year, 11 Ukrainian exporters have received 300 grain wagons from the USAID project “Economic Support of Ukraine”.

The use of these wagons will allow Ukraine to increase grain exports by 432,705 tons every year, as well as attract significant additional investments in the agricultural logistics sector.

In particular, such agricultural exporters and logistics companies as: Agro Region, Almeida Group LLC, Ascet Shipping, Astarta-Kyiv, Cygnet Agrocompany, Eridon, Work in IMC, Louis Dreyfus Company, MHP, Nidera Agro, UGTC TRADE received wagons from the USAID project.

Thanks to the new wagons, exporters will deliver grain faster, strengthen market independence and optimize logistics costs. Then they will be able to offer Ukrainian farmers more competitive conditions for cooperation.

We will remind, in a new report, USAID said that it has attracted more than $500 million to support Ukrainian farmers and shipping routes. It is also noted that the agency’s project helped to prepare and financially ensure the operation of alternative export routes. Among them are ports on the Danube and land border crossing points.

Previously, the Nibulon company reported how two mechanical grain samplers from USAID helped increase the speed of processing at the “Bessarabska” branch.

In general, as part of the Grain from Ukraine initiative, 11 ships with more than 200,000 tons of agricultural products were sent to Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Yemen, Nigeria, Sudan, Palestine, Malawi, Mozambique and others.

At the beginning of June 2024, as part of the humanitarian food initiative, Ukraine delivered 2,453.26 tons of oil intended for 5 African countries – the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique, Djibouti, Mauritania, Palestine.

In addition, in July, 1,000 tons of flour were delivered to Palestine with the support of the WFP. In August, 23,000 tons of corn were sent to Mozambique and Malawi.
