USPA officials “earned” UAH 500 million on dredging in the Port of Pivdennyi

USPA management ordered dredging in the Port of Pivdennyi at an inflated price, which caused losses of almost half a billion UAH.

An indictment against the manager and two officials of the Pivdennyi branch of SE “USPA” was sent to the court for official negligence, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported .

The investigation established that in May 2017, officials of the state-owned enterprise entered into a subcontract for dredging works in the water area of the Pivdenny seaport. Within the scope of the contract, the officials accepted and paid for the works at an inflated price, which caused losses to the state enterprise in the amount of almost UAH 100 million.

In addition, a pre-trial investigation is currently underway into the fact that the same USPA officials committed a similar crime. Their actions caused almost UAH 360 million in losses to the state-owned enterprise.

On June 27, the officials’ residence was searched and the manager and two officials of the state-owned enterprise were informed of the new suspicion.
