USPA presented priority infrastructure projects at the summit in Brussels

The Ukraine-EU Business Summit discussed the restoration of Ukraine through the prism of European reindustrialization.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

During a panel discussion dedicated to the development of the port industry, the head of the USPA, Oleksandr Semyrha, presented a vision of the restoration and modernization of Ukrainian port infrastructure – both in wartime and in the long term.

He focused on the development of the Danube ports as strategic multimodal hubs, as well as the need to restore the damaged infrastructure of the ports of Great Odesa.

“Today, it is important to build sustainable partnerships and deepen cooperation with the international community. Together with the restoration of infrastructure, we are creating the foundation for a modern, competitive and innovative port system of Ukraine,” Oleksandr Semyrha emphasized.

In particular, the USPA confirmed its readiness to implement investment projects – within the framework of public-private partnerships, concession mechanisms and with the support of international financial organizations.

Particular attention was paid to the integration of Ukrainian ports into the TEN-T network to strengthen Europe’s transport sustainability.

It should be noted that during the seminar “Investments in Ukrainian Ports: Strengthening the Role as Intermodal Hubs” a list of specific initiatives was presented that have a high degree of preparation and can be implemented in the short term.

As previously reported by USM, the USPA plans to expand the competitive capabilities of ports on the Danube.
