UZ received Moldova’s proposals for discounts on rail transit

JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” received offers from Moldova regarding discounts for transit cargo transportation.

This was discussed during a meeting with the participation of representatives of UZ, carriers of Romania and railways of Moldova, writes Rail.insider.

“Ukrzaliznytsia is currently processing this information. In the near future, we will tell you what proposals the Moldovan side gave us. Perhaps we will make counter-offers and we will also tell you about them later,” said Valery Tkachev, deputy director of the commercial work department of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine previously noted that Moldova is interested in increasing the volume of transportation, but at the same time, the volume of road transportation has decreased. This is possible only in the case of a significant increase in transportation by the Moldovan railway and corresponds to the interests of both countries: the Moldovan railway and market participants.
