Vessels blocked in Mykolaiv can operate effectively on the Danube, — “Nibulon”

The company emphasized the need to evacuate the fleet and launch the Mykolaiv port hub.

This was stated by Mykhailo Rizak, director of interaction with authorities of “Nibulon” at the conference “Rebuilding Ukraine: why we should not delay until victory.”

According to him, first of all, it is necessary to pay attention to the development of alternative export routes and to take all possible measures for the evacuation of the fleet and the launch of the Mykolaiv port hub.

“I would like to remind you that more than 100 vessels are blocked in Mykolaiv, 30 of which are sea-class, and the other 70 are mixed or river vessels that can effectively operate on the Danube,” Mykhailo Rizak noted.

He also added that the return of freight on the Danube River to the pre-war level and in a systematic connection with wagons from donors or a special tariff from UZ will allow to restore the competition of transshipment with the deep-water ports of Odesa.

It will be recalled that in March it became known that “Nibulon” moved part of the fleet from Mykolaiv to the Danube. During the redeployment, the ships were disassembled and transported overland on large tractors.
