Weapons from North Korea could have been loaded onto Russian vessels

Great Britain has sent satellite images to the UN, which can prove that North Korea is supplying weapons to Russia.

The satellite images were sent to a group of UN experts to initiate an official investigation, writes The Guardian.

The British intelligence report includes images of three Russian ships – the Maya, Angara and Maria – being loaded with containers at the redeveloped North Korean port of Najin before transiting to Russian ports in the Far East.

The pictures were taken in the period from September to December. The contents of the containers cannot be identified, but the report comes after the US announced that ballistic missiles from North Korea had been used by Russia in Ukraine.

The UN diplomat said that this report and other evidence should be the reason for a full investigation into the violation of international sanctions by Russia and the DPRK. All of the Russian vessels mentioned in the report came under US government sanctions in 2022.

As previously reported by USM, the test of North Korea’s latest nuclear-tipped naval drone may have been fabricated.
