Zmiinyi Island: what happens after the shelling by the invaders

On Zmiinyi Island, Ukrainian troops refused to surrender to the occupiers and sent a Russian warship to a known address.

Satellite images of the island, created by Maxar Technologies, show the damage to the infrastructure received after the attack by Russian troops.

Also in the photo is a Russian warship anchored in the Black Sea.

Initially, 13 border guards who had been defending the island were declared dead. But later it turned out that they were alive, but had been taken prisoner by Russian troops.
