1.6 million dollars of debt was returned to Ukrainian seamen

The ITF inspectorate returned more than $1.6 million in salary arrears to the sailors.

Last year, the ITF Inspectorate in Ukraine managed to return more than $1.6 million in wages and compensation payments to sailors. In particular, the net salary arrears reached 640,000 dollars. At the same time, the amount of compensation paid to the families of seafarers amounted to almost 1 million dollars, the Trade Union of Maritime Transport Workers of Ukraine reports.

In total, for five years of its work, the ITF Inspection in Ukraine processed 737 appeals from seafarers, returning to them and their families more than 8 million dollars in arrears from wages and compensation payments.
