The “Grain Agreement” was not extended
Negotiations on the continuation of the “Grain Initiative” will continue.
At the negotiations in Istanbul, it was not possible to approve the extension of the Black Sea Initiative. The parties will continue negotiations in an online format.
“The Ukrainian delegation once again emphasized that the Initiative should be extended for a longer period and expanded. This will provide predictability and confidence to both the global and Ukrainian markets. But, first of all, it is necessary to restore the registration of the incoming fleet and conduct inspections without artificial delays and in accordance with the procedures of the SCC,” — Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.
Instead, it was possible to agree on a plan for the return of merchant ships and their crews, which were stuck in Ukrainian ports due to the war, informs the Ministry of Defense of Turkey.
Previously, USM wrote that losses from the termination of the Grain Agreement reached UAH $800 mln per monthь.
