The Russians are mining the “Crimean Titan”: previously a Syrian ship delivered phosphorites there
Russians mine the shops of the Crimean Titan enterprise in Armyansk, located in the north of the annexed Crimea.
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports on mining.
“For the past few days, engineering units of the occupying army of Muscovy have been mining the workshops of the enterprise, which are still working, and also planting explosives in the factory and the surrounding territory,” the Main Directorate of Intelligence claims.
It is reported that due to the destruction of the Kakhovska HPP dam and, as a result, the lack of water in the North Crimean Canal, production processes at the “Crimean Titan” in Armyansk have been disrupted to a critical level. The Russians consider it impossible to resume work in the proper mode, therefore information is allegedly circulating in the territory of Armyansk about the probable stoppage of the “Crimean Titan”.
The message also emphasizes that about 200 tons of industrial ammonia are used in the refrigeration equipment of “Crimean Titan”. In the event of an explosion at the plant, an ammonia cloud, depending on the direction of the wind, will cover the surrounding areas in half an hour.
Armyansk, Krasnoperekop district of Crimea and southern regions of Kherson region will be under threat. Currently, according to the Main Directorate of Intelligence, the Russians are preparing for the evacuation of representatives of their administration and the local population.
The SeaKrime project, which investigates the theft of Ukrainian grain and monitors Russian vessels, confirms the information of the GUR about the danger associated with the presence of ammonia on the “Crimean Titan”.
“Ammonia is used for the production of amphos – mineral fertilizers. We have already spotted the Syrian vessel FINIKIA (IMO: 9385233) several times, which delivers phosphorites to the occupied Sevastopol for the enterprise – raw materials for the production of amphos. The last time it was on May 10, 2023,” said the journalist Kateryna Yaresko.
According to Yaresko, if there are phosphorites, there is also ammonia. In addition, “Titan” may also contain sulfur, and nearby in Krasnoperekopsk there is a bromine plant, in the production cycle of which chlorine is used.
