The EBRD will sign an agreement with Ukraine on support for the agricultural sector
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to sign documents with Ukraine this week on strengthening the country’s agricultural sector.
A conference on the restoration of Ukraine will be held in Great Britain soon. As Ukrainform notes, the EBRD will join discussions on the future recovery, its planning and financing.
“The EBRD has had a very practical goal from the very beginning: to support the sustainability of the real sector of the Ukrainian economy in the here and now, giving priority to energy security, vital infrastructure, food security and supporting the private sector. At the stage of reconstruction, in addition to continuing to support reforms, we plan to work even more actively in these areas and continue to support key sectors of the Ukrainian economy,” said EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso.
The EBRD also intends to sign three memorandums of understanding with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal. One of these memoranda will concern hydropower, taking into account the situation at Kakhovska HPP.
The bank also plans to sign two projects, one of which is about ensuring food security in the agribusiness sector.
