“Nibulon” received from USAID 50 wagons for transporting grain through Izmail
The project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) “Economic Support of Ukraine” purchased 50 modern hopper cars for the needs of “Nibulon”.
Each of the wagons can transport up to 70 tons of grain, Nibulon reported.
The wagons were manufactured at the Research Mechanical Plant “Karpaty” (Lviv region).
The first 10 wagons have already been delivered, loaded with grain and are being prepared for further transportation of agricultural products through Ishmael to countries suffering from hunger, to overcome the food crisis in the world.
The company reminded that Russia is blocking sea routes for the export of agricultural products from Ukraine, and 12 river ports of “Nibulon”, located on the Southern Bug and Dnieper, are also blocked.
“Nibulona” needs to deliver grain from river ports to the nearest railway station and from there ship it to wagons for further export through the ports of the Odesa region. This allows jobs to be saved at river ports that are left without water and cut off from logistics.
Before the blockade, the company transported more than 15 million tons of cargo per year through the Dnipro and the Southern Bug, of which more than 4 million tons were grain
