The European Agency will help conduct an audit of the Shipping Register
The European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) will provide support in the audit of the state-owned enterprise “Shipping Register of Ukraine”.
The audit will be conducted within the framework of the project “Maritime safety, protection and environmental protection in the regions of the Black and Caspian Seas II” (BCSEA II), the head of the Shipping Administration, Yevhenii Ignatenko said.
According to him, in accordance with the action plan of the project, EMSA’s support in conducting an audit of the state enterprise “Classification Society Register of Shipping of Ukraine” is provided, in particular.
As of now:
• started preparing for the audit;
• identified persons from EMSA and the Shipping Register of Ukraine responsible for conducting the audit;
• at the request of EMSA, the Register of Shipping of Ukraine provided the necessary package of documents for processing;
• developed a schedule of relevant online meetings.
“The first online meeting was held at which the following issues were discussed: legal and organizational features of the functioning of the Register of Shipping of Ukraine, interested parties in interaction with the Register, management, areas of responsibility of the Register of Shipping, scope of application of the quality management system, pollution prevention policy, key performance indicators, etc. Yevhenii Ignatenko stressed.
