The EU may include Italy and Greece in the “Lanes of solidarity”
The EU is studying the possibility of including Italy and Greece in the “Lanes solidarity” through which Ukrainian grain is exported overland.
Italy and Greece can be included in the “Lanes of solidarity”, said Miriam García Ferrer, spokeswoman for the European Commission on Agriculture and Trade, “European Truth”reports .
She said that thanks to alternative routes, it was possible to reduce logistics costs by 50%.
By the end of the year, the EU wants to reach 4 million tons of grain transported through the “corridors”.
“During the meeting of the Joint Coordination Platform, we not only invited the Baltic countries and Croatia to discuss alternative routes, but we also included Italy and Greece as potential new export routes for Ukrainian grain,” Ferrer emphasized.
Previously, USM reported that Poland expects the European Commission to extend restrictions on the import of Ukrainian grain at least until the end of the year, but considers this term too short.
