Three EU countries are called not to block the import of grain from Ukraine


The European Commission calls on Poland, Hungary and Slovakia not to block the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.

Poland, Hungary and Slovakia unanimously declared that they will continue the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain, despite the EU’s decision to end the embargo.

In turn, the European Commission calls on these countries for constructive cooperation, writes Reuters.

For now, Brussels has decided to focus on “getting the new system that was just announced up and running.”

“We are aware of the statements of some member states regarding unilateral measures. Now it is important that all countries work in the spirit of compromise and engage in constructive interaction,” the European Commission emphasized.

A meeting with representatives of all interested EU countries is also planned for today, which will allow to discuss the issue of Ukrainian grain imports in more detail.

It will be recalled that on September 15, the EU allowed the ban on imports to be lifted after Ukraine promised to take measures to strengthen control over exports to neighboring countries.
