Russia asks China to help with shipbuilding

Russia is negotiating with China on the development of the shipbuilding industry.
Andriy Kostin, the CEO of the Russian bank VTB and the new chairman of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), said that he was looking for “Chinese partners in the field of finance and shipbuilding.”
As Kostin noted in an interview with the South China Morning Post, the countries may be able to build a new Russian shipyard together with China.
As Splash 24/7 writes, such plans of the Russian Federation are explained by the fact that after the attack on Ukraine, restrictions on the work of shipyards appeared in the country. In addition, international suppliers left the Russian market.
In August, the state-owned VTB, at the behest of Putin, took over the management of the financially troubled USK, which is the country’s largest shipbuilder. It manages about 40 shipyards, design bureaus and repair yards throughout Russia, which employ 95,000 employees.
In addition, USC is known for building Caliber carrier ships, which Russia then uses to attack civilian cities in Ukraine.
