Ukraine invited Turkey to join the Maritime Coalition
Rustem Umerov suggested that Turkey join the Maritime Coalition to strengthen security in the Black Sea.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine stated this during a meeting with the new Ambassador of Turkey to Ukraine Levent Bilgen, the Ministry of Defense reported.
“We are grateful to Turkey for supporting Ukraine from the first day of the full-scale invasion in the matter of ensuring the security of the Black Sea. We invite Turkey to join the Maritime Coalition,” said Rustem Umyerov.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine also added that the efforts of the Coalition of Naval Forces and Means, the creation of which was initiated by Great Britain and Norway, are aimed at stopping Russia’s interference in freedom of navigation, in particular in the functioning of the “grain corridor”.
Representatives of Ukraine and Turkey also discussed potential cooperation in defense production. According to Turkish Ambassador Levent Bilgen, Turkey’s comprehensive support for Ukraine will continue.
