Bulgaria stopped importing oil from Russia
A ban on the import of oil of Russian origin came into effect in Bulgaria.
On March 1, the ban on the import of Russian oil to Bulgaria entered into force, reports BGNES.
Also, since January 1, Bulgaria has banned the export of products made from Russian raw materials.
Two years ago, the European Commission imposed an embargo on Russian oil, but Bulgaria asked for a postponement. In the middle of 2023, disputes broke out in the Bulgarian parliament, because some parties advocated a complete ban on Russian oil.
Previously, USM reported that starting January 1, 2024, Bulgaria stopped exporting fuel produced from Russian oil.
Also, since March 1, the Lukoil plant in Bulgaria has been banned from processing Russian oil.
