The Russians are shelling Zmiinyi island to disrupt the work of the maritime corridor
The Russians are shelling the Snake Island from aircraft in order to disrupt the work of the Ukrainian sea corridor.
The invaders are trying to launch missile strikes on Zmiinyi (Snake) Island from the air, as they cannot control the northwestern part of the Black Sea with a fleet of ships and boats, Nataliya Humenyuk, spokeswoman for the operational command “Pivden”, said hromadske.
The goal of the occupiers is to disrupt the maritime corridor.
According to Humenyuk, the Russians have repeatedly tried to launch guided air missiles over the island or conduct reconnaissance with the help of tactical aircraft, but these attempts were unsuccessful.
“The fact of trying to terrorize this region is more evidence of attempts to disrupt the functioning of the navigation corridor, because it is around Zmiiny Island that the recommended sea routes pass,” said the spokeswoman of OC “Pivden”.
Earlier, USM reported that shelling of Odesa region ports led to downtime in the work of Ukrzaliznytsia.
