Since the beginning of the year, the cargo turnover of the ports of the Russian Federation decreased by 3.3%
In particular, the volume of transshipment of bulk cargoes of the aggressor country decreased by 4.1%.
The cargo turnover of Russian ports for January-March 2024 decreased by 3.3%, compared to the same period last year, and amounted to 214.3 million tons. Russian mass media write about it.
In particular, the volume of transshipment of energy raw materials decreased. Thus, the volume of coal loading fell by 15.2% to 43.4 million tons. The volume of transshipment of petroleum products decreased by 16.5% to 29.7 million tons.
By region, cargo turnover in the ports of the Russian Federation was distributed as follows:
• in the Far Eastern basin, it decreased by 4.9% and amounted to 54.3 million tons;
• in the Arctic Basin, it decreased by 4.3% and amounted to 23.5 million tons;
• in the Azov-Black Sea basin fell by 4.2% to 70.6 million tons.
On the other hand, Russian cargo traffic was reoriented to the ports of the Caspian basin – probably due to the strengthening of trade with Iran. Transshipment volumes in this region increased by 40.4% and amounted to 2.2 million tons. In particular, shipments of dry goods increased by 1.8 times.
USM previously wrote that Iran returned about 3,000 tons of fodder corn purchased in Russia due to its poor quality.
