Ukraine exported goods worth more than 3 billion dollars in May

In total, 12.2 million tons of cargo were exported from Ukraine last month.

In May, Ukraine exported 12.2 million tons of cargo worth $3.34 billion. Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka announced this.

The physical volume of exports in May was 6.9% lower than in April. This is due to the fact that the export of grain products of that year’s harvest traditionally decreases in May.

8.5 million tons were exported by sea transport in May, which is 1 million less than in April. On the other hand, exports by road transport are recovering — 896,000 tons (+10.7%).

The volume of export of agricultural products decreased somewhat. Thus, the volume of corn shipments is 452,000 tons less than in April (3.6 million tons). Wheat was exported by 285 thousand tons less (1.6 million tons).

Despite this, the export of metallurgical products increased significantly: semi-finished products — 184,000 tons (+40%); flat rolled steel — 117,000 tons (+17%); seamless pipes – 51 thousand tons (+50.2%).

As USM recently wrote, Ukraine exported 50 million tons of cargo through the sea corridor in 9 months.
