The Shipping Administration filed about 100 appeals regarding the forgery of seafarer’s documents

The Shipping Administration submitted about 100 complaints to law enforcement agencies regarding possible forgery of documents.

Law enforcement officers revealed the scheme of issuing documents for sailors. The head of the Shipping Administration, Yevhenii Ignatenko, commented on the information.

In particular, it is about the possible influence on the members of the State Qualification Commission. According to Ignatenko, at the moment, no fact of influence on the members of the sailors’ commission in the exercise of their powers has been established.

When issuing qualification documents, officials of the Shipping Administration are governed exclusively by legislation. Ignatenko urged sailors to report violations or abuses by department officials.
