Lukoil denies plans to sell refinery in Bulgaria

Lukoil denied information about the possible sale of its Lukoil Neftokhim Burgas refinery in Bulgaria.

Representatives of the Bulgarian branch of Lukoil – the company Litasco – stated that no negotiations are underway with the Qatari-British consortium, writes enkorr.

The Financial Times published information about the company’s negotiations with the consortium the other day.

“There were no contacts with representatives of the consortium or the authorities of the Russian Federation on this issue,” Litasco said in a statement.

The company also noted that it reserves the right to protect its reputation “against misleading material.”

Earlier, it was reported that Lukoil is preparing to sell its refinery in Bulgaria to a Qatari-British consortium consisting of the Qatari Oryx Global and the London trading house DL Hudson.

Against the background of these news, Litasco emphasized that it maintains the principles of transparency in cooperation with the Bulgarian authorities and local syndicates.
