“Nibulon” sent the first sea-going coaster from the port on the Danube (video)
A fireship loaded with 7,000 tons of soybeans left the Bessarabska branch in the port of Izmail for Turkey.
Such shipments are planned to be carried out on a regular basis, Nibulon reported.
The company emphasized that the departure of the first fireship from Izmail to Turkey opens up new opportunities for Ukraine to use the export chain through the ports of the Danube. This will further equalize the possibilities of an alternative route relative to the traditional one through the ports of the Black Sea.
“Nibulon’s own barge and tug fleet will continue to operate on the Izmail-Constanta route to implement the possibility of loading large-tonnage vessels. The additional option of loading sea-going coasters enhances the company’s trade and logistical advantages in delivering goods in batches of up to 7,000 tons directly to the country of destination,” the report says.
Nibulon Trade Director Volodymyr Slavinskyi added that the company works with a separate segment of consumers, mainly in the Mediterranean basin, on the issue of loading of ships.
“For them, mobility inherent in medium-sized consignments and a reduction in the military risk factor relative to the ports of Greater Odessa are important. At the same time, the emergence of the opportunity to deliver grain directly to the customer will allow us to maintain the level of purchase prices for grain, supporting our agricultural partners,” Slavinskyi said.
In particular, the company noted that it is ready to provide transshipment services to other exporters, since the terminal’s three berths are able to ensure parallel loading of vessels of different classes.
As previously reported by USM, Nibulon transported 126 thousand tons of grain thanks to the support of USAID.
