Ukraine discussed with Saudi Arabia the expansion of the Grain from Ukraine program


The parties also discussed providing assistance to Syria and African countries and separately focused on the climate issue.

The meeting with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy of Saudi Arabia Ahmed Al-Jubeir took place within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Koval noted that the dialogue with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia is a step towards strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of agricultural policy, climate innovations and humanitarian initiatives.

“The focus of our discussion with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia is initiatives that save lives and contribute to sustainable development. In particular, we discussed with Ahmed Al-Jubeir the expansion of the Food from Ukraine/Grain from Ukraine program to provide assistance to Syria and African countries. Our common goal is to ensure food security for those who need it most and contribute to the fight against global hunger,” said Vitaliy Koval.

Separately, the ministers discussed the topic of climate and the development of climate-friendly agriculture. According to Vitaliy Koval, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia understand the importance of a sustainable approach to agriculture in a rapidly changing world.

Previously, food aid was sent to African countries as part of Grain from Ukraine.
