Export barley prices fall following wheat and corn

Barley prices have fallen by another 200–300 UAH/t over the past week to 10,100–10,200 UAH/t ($208–210/t) with delivery to Black Sea ports.
Feed wheat prices are currently at $203–206/t, and feed corn prices are at $198–203/t, Grain Trade reports
Demand for barley remains very low: since the beginning of the season, Ukraine has exported only 654,000 tons, which is almost half the amount it exported last year (1.12 million tons).
Interest in grain at international tenders is also low. For example, on September 10, Jordan purchased only 60,000 tons out of the announced 120,000 tons at a price of $262/t C&F. Offers from other traders reached $266–276/t.
Domestic demand for malting barley is also declining: due to a lack of warehouses, malting plants have stopped accepting grain and are postponing delivery dates. Some farmers, like last year, may be forced to sell grain as feed.
Analysts expect a revival in export demand for barley in October-November, while the resumption of purchases of malting barley is predicted closer to December-January.
The day before, USM wrote that Ukraine had exported more than 5 million tons of grain since the beginning of the new season.
