Superyacht “Amadea” of sanctioned Russian oligarch Kerimov sold at auction in the US

The confiscated 106-meter superyacht Amadea, which belonged to Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, has a new owner.
The new owner and the price of the yacht were not disclosed, writes Business Insider.
The US Department of Justice put the 106-meter vessel up for auction, which ended on September 10. The amount of the transaction will not be disclosed. However, according to the US Department of Justice, the cost of Amadea reached $ 300 million, although the latest independent assessment reduced it to $ 230 million.
The American authorities sought to sell the yacht as soon as possible, since US citizens paid $ 600 thousand per month for the maintenance of the superyacht Amadea. As of the end of 2024, these costs had already reached $30 million.
Recall that the yacht was arrested in May 2022 in Fiji at the request of the United States in connection with sanctions against Kerimov, and later the ship was towed to San Diego. In 2024, the ship was officially confiscated by the United States as part of the sanctions program against Russian businessmen. Subsequently, the US Department of Justice proved that the ship belonged to Kerimov, despite attempts to hide ownership through front persons.
As previously reported by USM, in June 2025, a federal court in New York allowed the sale of “Amadea”.
