Since the beginning of October, over 836 thousand tons of grain have been transported by rail


In 14 days of October, out of a total load of 911 thousand tons of grain, almost 837 thousand tons of grain cargo were transported for export.

This is reported by RAIL.insider  with reference to representatives of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.

In October, 911 thousand tons of grain were loaded on the railway network, which is 7% more than last month. At the same time, there is a drop in comparison with the corresponding period last year – by 35%.

In total, almost 837 thousand tons were exported in October. Thus, compared with September, the indicator decreased by 9.8%, and compared to the corresponding period last year – by 36%.

92% of the total volume was transported to seaports, and 8% to western border crossings.

In addition, in October, the transfer of grain through railway border crossings to Romania was resumed (it was not carried out in September). The indicator currently stands at 0.6 wagons per day.

Earlier, USM reported that the operators of the Odesa port appealed to the authorities over Ukrzaliznytsia’s tariffs.
