In Kerch, a storm threw tons of fuel oil onto the shore

The beaches and water on the coast of temporarily occupied Kerch are covered with oil stains.

After a powerful storm in occupied Kerch, the coast from the city beach to the spit was covered with a layer of fuel oil. This is reported by the monitoring group “Crimean Wind”.

According to their data, the pollution has been going on for several days, but the occupation authorities are not taking any measures to eliminate the consequences. Locals noticed the first fuel oil stains over the weekend, and the other day they found a bird completely covered in oil waste.

Using satellite images, analysts from “Crimean Wind” discovered several large spots of fuel oil pollution near the coast. The largest of them are 5.9 and 6.4 km long, and the area is 0.75 and 1.07 km².

Despite the obvious pollution, the occupation administration claims that “no new emissions in the Kerch Strait have been recorded.” At the same time, photos taken by local residents indicate a large-scale ecological disaster. The coast is covered with dark spots, and fuel oil washes up on the shore along with algae.

Previously, fuel oil from Russian tankers was found off the coast of the Odesa region.
