The European Commission may separately add dozens of Russian tankers to the sanctions list, — Vlasyuk

Ukraine has provided the EU with detailed information on vessels, captains, operators, oil recipients and refineries involved in sanctions circumvention schemes.

The European Commission may introduce separate sanctions lists against tankers of Russia’s “shadow fleet” if it fails to adopt the 20th EU sanctions package by the end of the year. This was stated by the Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasyuk, writes “Ukrinform”.

“There are two options for the development of events. If the 20th sanctions package is finalized this week or early next week, it may be adopted this year. If not, the European Commission will implement “plan B” and add a significant number of oil tankers of the shadow fleet to the sanctions lists, possibly some more positions,” Vlasyuk said.

Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Estonian Prime Minister Kaia Kallas confirmed that the EU is preparing new tools to combat Russia’s “shadow fleet”, which is estimated to have already reduced Russian oil exports by 30%.

Earlier, USM reported that Russia and Vietnam had organized a scheme to circumvent the oil price ceiling.
