Ukraine is investigating whether there are Ukrainians on tankers detained by the US

The Embassy of Ukraine in the United States has made an official request as to whether Ukrainian citizens were among the crew members of the detained tankers.
This is reported by European Pravda with reference to the comment of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
“The Embassy of Ukraine in the United States has made an official request as to whether individual crew members on board the detained tankers have Ukrainian citizenship,” the department noted.
The diplomats also added that they are in constant contact with the American side and expect “to receive official information after conducting all necessary inspection procedures on the vessels.”
Recall, on January 7, the American military took control of two tankers, including the Russian-flagged Bella 1, which they had been pursuing for more than two weeks. The vessels are accused of violating sanctions policy. The media spread information that there were citizens of the Russian Federation and Ukraine on board the tanker.
Earlier, USM reported that the United States was preparing to charge the crew of the shadowy tanker Bella 1.
