The first civilian teams to shoot down drones have appeared in Ukrainian ports

The first civilian teams to shoot down enemy drones have appeared in Ukrainian ports and on Ukrzaliznytsia.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Development of Community and Territorial Oleksiy Kuleba said this in an interview with Radio Svoboda.

“I want to say that it is in the ports and on Ukrzaliznytsia that we are introducing the first teams that, in accordance with the resolution approved by the government, will be able to and are already performing certain tasks to shoot down drones, while not being military, but members of the DFT (volunteer formations of territorial communities – ed.),” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

He explained that the resilience plans adopted by the NSDC on March 3 were created precisely so that Ukraine could move from a constant reactive response to a resilience system.

Regional plans are designed to first “close” the facilities that are most critical for the region or country. Secondly, they should “level up” those critical objects that they could not previously pay attention to due to priority, lack of funds, etc.

Kuleba noted that the enemy has chosen Ukraine’s logistics as one of the main targets for attacks in order to leave transportation to ports, or logistics to the Donetsk region, or front-line logistics.

“Indeed, I can say that the attacks on Ukrzaliznytsia are now simply massive. We have about ten attacks every night. We also have quite serious attacks on ports. The goal is clear: the Russians want to do everything to destroy the country’s export potential,” the Minister for Development of Community and Territorial noted.

Earlier, USM reported that Russia had attacked the ports of the Odesa region more than 180 times since the beginning of the year.
