Interpipe installed pipes for offshore wind farm in the North Sea

Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has supplied pipes for an offshore wind farm in the North Sea.

The company has joined another alternative energy project – an offshore wind farm off the coast of Great Britain, Interpipe reported.

The construction of the plant 69 kilometers off the coast of Suffolk, England, is in the final stage – the installation of turbines.

Interpipe pipes have already been used during the assembly of supports for future “windmills”. The company’s products serve as a system of piers near the wind turbine supports, where boats for service personnel can moor. In total, almost 2,500 tons of pipes of various sizes were manufactured and shipped for this project.

“The peculiarity of the pipes for this order is in the wall thickness and the need to comply with geometric parameters, as well as in the requirements for the metal’s resistance to corrosion in the marine environment,” said Jorge Ruiz, pipe sales manager for European markets.

The project is scheduled to be launched in late 2026 or early 2027. The plant will generate at least 1.4 gigawatts of energy and will be able to provide electricity to more than 1.3 million households.

Earlier, USM reported that Interpipe will supply pipes for the construction of a railway connecting the ports of Spain with Eastern Europe.
