Ukrainian agricultural sector increased profits to UAH 223 billion in 2025

Financial indicators of Ukrainian agricultural production demonstrate significant nominal growth in 2025.

This was reported by the Food and Land Use Research Center at the Kyiv School of Economics KSE Agrocenter.

Thus, the pre-tax financial result of a sample of over 35 thousand agricultural companies reached UAH 223 billion, an increase of UAH 38.5 billion (+21% compared to 2024).

At the same time, an analysis of macroeconomic statistics indicates a deep structural gap between the nominal financial results of enterprises and the dynamics of real added value generated in the sector.

The dynamics of profits among the industry leaders is indicative – the ten largest companies belonging to the MHP, Kernel and Goodvalley groups increased their pre-tax profit by 40%, reaching UAH 16 billion.

Such a discrepancy in growth rates may indicate a higher adaptability of companies from the orbits of large holdings to logistical constraints and their ability to manage operating costs more effectively due to the effect of scale.

At the same time, a historical maximum in direct tax payments (minimum tax liability, income tax, single and land taxes) is recorded. Agricultural producers transferred UAH 13.3 billion to the budgets – this is 34.6% higher than in 2024. Thus, the direct tax burden in the agricultural sector is about 6%.

In 2025, the nominal gross value added (GVA) of the agricultural sector increased by 21% in actual prices compared to the previous year, which correlates with the dynamics of the overall financial result before tax. At the same time, in constant prices of 2021, the industry’s GVA shows a decrease of 6.2% y/y. This discrepancy between nominal and real indicators indicates that the positive financial dynamics in 2025 are entirely formed due to the price factor, explained KSE Agrocenter.

Earlier, USM reported that Ukraine opened the first agrohub on the African continent.
