Ukraine is forming a system to counter the shadow grain fleet of the Russian Federation, — Zelenskyy

Kyiv is strengthening coordination of sanctions with international partners by analogy with the fight against the “shadow” oil fleet.
Ukraine is building a comprehensive system to counter the so-called shadow grain fleet of Russia. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following the report of Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.
According to the head of state, we are talking about vessels used to transport grain exported from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
“We are building a system to counter the shadow grain fleet, as well as the shadow oil fleet,” Zelenskyy noted.
The President emphasized that Ukraine is intensifying cooperation with partners to synchronize sanctions – both Ukrainian ones in the jurisdictions of allies and international restrictions in the Ukrainian legal field.
Recent incidents with the supply of stolen grain deserve special attention. Ukrainian diplomats and the Prosecutor General’s Office are involved in responding to them.
Kyiv sees the “shadow grain fleet” as part of broader sanctions-evasion schemes similar to those used by Russia in the oil sector.
Increased sanctions pressure and international coordination are expected to be key tools in countering such shipments.
USM previously reported that an Israeli importer had abandoned stolen Ukrainian grain due to the risk of sanctions.
