Maersk temporarily suspends its service through the port of Chornomorsk

Due to shelling of port infrastructure by the Russian Federation, Maersk has temporarily suspended container service through the Chornomorsk fishing port.

As noted by the press service of Maersk Ukraine, this decision was made due to the current security situation that affects the carrier’s operations.

Import cargoes that were to be unloaded in Chornomorsk will be redirected to the port of Constanta in Romania. In particular, the MEDKON MIRA vessel will change the port of unloading, and a similar decision will be applied to other shipments bound for Chornomorsk and currently in or awaiting arrival at Port Said.

For export shipments, Maersk offered two options: free cancellation of the booking or change of the port of loading from Chornomorsk to Constanta with the preservation of the current sea freight rate for containers that have already been delivered to the port.

The company also announced that cargo delivery between Romania and Ukraine will be organized by road transport, and the resumption of service via the Black Sea fishing port will be announced separately.
